Session Description:
This program is designed to raise awareness that cardiovascular risk factors are identifiable in childhood and are predictive of future cardiovascular risk.

Session Objectives

  1. To Identify risk factors for cardiovascular disease in adult populations.
  2. To relate risk factors that can be identified in children and adolescents to the probability of future atherosclerotic disease as an adult.
  3. To discuss the importance of physical activity as an important moderator of cardiovascular risk factors in children and adolescents.

Technology Requirements:
Participants registering for programs should have access to the following technology for best viewing and participation:
  • Personal computer with Macintosh or Windows with 512 MB of RAM
  • Broadband internet connection such as an office LAN, DSL, or cable modem
  • Phone next to personal computer (or speaker phone if multiple people are viewing)
