Course Objectives:
- Illustrate co-occurrence of psychiatric and cognitive disturbances over the course of PD, including before its diagnosis.
- Describe overlap of motor and neuropsychiatric features in PD.
- Recognize the common subtypes of neuropsychiatric disturbances in PD.
- Review general treatment approaches to neuropsychiatric disturbances in PD.
Session Objectives:
Session participants will about:- Develop a shared understanding of what is patient- and family-centered care (PFCC)
- Share practical strategies to initiate meaningful partnerships with patients and family members as formal members of the healthcare team
- Explore how partnership among patients, families and caregivers strengthen quality and safety
- Review outcomes associated with PFCC best practices
