About Foothills Area Health Education Center (AHEC)
Our Mission
To improve the quality, education, supply distribution and retention of health care professionals throughout Northeast Georgia
Foothills AHEC is a community driven non-profit organization with a mission to increase the quality, supply and distribution of the healthcare professionals throughout the 31 counties we serve in Northeast Georgia. Foothills AHEC is one of six AHEC centers in Georgia. The strategic focus areas of creating a health professions pipeline include the recruitment of youth and adults into the healthcare profession, training of healthcare professional students, and retention of practicing healthcare professionals.
