About Georgia Statewide (AHEC) Network Program Office (MCG):
The Program Office of the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network serves as the manager and financial oversight for core programming provided at each of our six regional AHEC centers.
Each center is a 501©3, and each Center Director is an employee of the Center’s Board of Directors. The Program Director is an employee / faculty of MCG and holds faculty appointments in the schools of medicine at MCG and Mercer University School of Medicine. A Statewide AHEC Network Steering Board provides advise and counsel for the Program Office.
Our mission is “To create and sustain community driven, regional programs which promote health care access for medically underserved Georgians by improving the quality, distribution, and retention of health care professionals. Programs foster action and advocacy and are implemented through community and academic partnerships.”
