Program Description
The recent and rapid changes in health care delivery and economy have brought pressures and challenges to physician practices, hospitals, and health systems across the state of Georgia. This program will highlight the recent surge in partnerships and mergers of medical entities across the state. The program will explain the reasons behind these decisions as well as the potential benefits and challenges.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the presentation, attendees should be able to:
- Summarize the public policy issues surrounding mergers and acquisitions
- List the pros and cons of mergers and acquisitions activity with respect to cost, quality, and access
- Describe the appropriate regulatory response to the increasing trend towards integrated and large delivery
