Program Description
Infection control is a challenge in all health care settings. Dr. Felzien will address infection control issues in both in-patient and out-patient settings by utilizing MRSA as a model. He will describe its scope, as well as the clinical presentations and available MRSA treatment options utilizing the Infectious Diseases Society of America (ISDA) evidence-based practice guidelines . He will address infection control precautions and the administrative support they require. Education of staff, patients and families remains an important infection management strategy to minimize the spread of multi-drug resistant organisms.

- Describe the scope of MRSA with in-patient and out-patient settings
- Identify available MRSA treatment options
- Give examples of challenges in infection control
